We are Grant Curran & Amy Stanley (soon-to-be Curran)! We live in Gatlinburg, TN & are working hard to build a vacation rental business featuring beautiful homes that have been gutted..renovated..designed..& photographed by us! We can’t wait to show you our ideas and our day-to-day as we work towards developing these vacation rental properties!
A little bit about us:
Grant & I recently got engaged in September, 2019 and are in the midst of planning a wedding, among other things (like building & running a business). We’ve been best friends for years, but only 2 years ago realized that we make an AMAZING team working together.
How did this all come to be?
Well… after we both graduated from The University of Texas ( Hook ‘Em Horns!!!), Grant worked for a company in the commercial real estate sector and I, Amy, worked as a Labor & Delivery nurse. A few months after we graduated, Grant decided to move to TN to help his parents out with a vacation cabin they had recently purchased in Gatlinburg, TN. The cabin needed to be fixed up a bit and because his parents were busy running a successful business back in Texas, Grant stepped in and started helping out with the home more and more. It totally helped that Grant was taught by his father from a very young age how to be ‘handy’ around the house and had helped his family remodel 2 homes at just the age of 12. These are skills I am very thankful he has!!! Because of this & my amateur design skills, we got our first cabin renovated and vacation-ready!
Like stated previously, I worked as a L&D nurse and always worked the night shift (7 pm-7am). On my days off, I started helping Grant with the design and decor and became very proficient in online shopping.. hehe. This quickly became my 2nd job as I started flying back and forth to TN…sometime’s catching the 10am flight after my shift which had just ended at 7am. We were having so much fun learning how the heck to renovate a home and all the little things that came with. Long distance and all, we successfully got 2 homes renovated, decorated, and up on VRBO! I moved here to TN a few months ago and have started working with Grant full-time as we develop our business, Cloud Nine Cabins.
Three Suite Retreat and Garrett Lodge were our first homes, despite us working long distance. We were able to finish Garrett Lodge out the way we wanted and gave it a look no other home in the area has. A few months after this home went “Live” on VRBO, we were asked by VRBO themselves if they could send a production crew to our home to feature it in their marketing campaign. We were over-the-moon and so honored. We couldn’t run this business the way we are without the help of VRBO and we are so grateful. I am so excited to say that we currently have 4 vacation rentals listed on VRBO..and more to come! Grant & I can’t wait to start sharing with you all more content about what we do and how we create vacation homes start-to-finish!
